Do you ever have the urge to travel beyond the usual holiday destinations? As our world has changed so much in recent times, you may have put your plans on hold.
Why not ‘dip your toe in the water’ in preparation for when it might be possible by ‘accompanying’ me as I relive the trip of a lifetime.
Distant Blue Horizons: Southeast Asia is part memoir part travelogue and tells the story of my travels through Southeast Asia, the first leg of my trip backpacking Round the World. It covers my journey through India & Nepal, Thailand & Malaysia and Indonesia. These three stages are all available separately as Kindle e-books.
I began my trip with much trepidation at the age of forty-eight which back then, for someone whose responsibilities in life began a little early, seemed a little ‘old’ to be a budget traveller, not to mention a bit scary. Now, looking back as a much older woman, it was just fine. In fact, you might say the experience was something of a much delayed adolescence. I set off alone and along the way met many delightful people, most of them quite a bit younger than myself, from all around the world. The discoveries, the fascination of new cultures, the amazing sights, sounds and colours. Come with me as I relive my adventure in a year I will never forget.
